PORTABLE ELECTRONIC MOISTURE METER
is designed primarily as production line tool for measuring the moisture content
of paper roll in motion on the
paper machine. Rugged, Stainless
Steel Roller sensing electrode permit instantaneous, on line or spot check non
–destructive moisture measurement, on the fastest paper machine as well as
measurement on stationary rolls or stack of paper. It is highly versatile instrument and has ability to handle a variety of moisture problems in
paper industry.
FEATURE
Roller Electrode pair has a Radio Frequency Field, which cover an area
12” x 16” & 2” deep are the responsible to detect the average moisture
content or of moisture distribution throughout the sample.
Radio frequency capacitance circuit minimizes effects of pH and
temperature variations.
Multi-purpose dial for Direct Reading Percentage Scale, Numerical Reading
Scale or Comparative Testing Scale.
“High-Medium -Low” sensitivity switch enables testing of various
products in various moisture ranges 0 – 35%.
Powered by two standard ‘C’ size 1.5 volts alkaline batteries.
Build in standard for quick calibrations.
No technical skills needed to operate.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
PORTABLE
ELECTRONIC MOISTURE METER is designed to measure the moisture via the
capacitance measurement principle. A
capacitance (Dielectric Constant) measurement technique was chosen because of
its stability in the presence of changing paper temperatures and pH.
The instrument actually acts as a capacitor where is one of the capacitor
plates is roller and other plate is aluminium case of the instrument.
A
radio frequency field is generated at both rollers, then penetrates the paper
roll or stacks to a depth of approx. 5 cm.
The RF field then returns to the case of the instrument and complete the
path of travel. When water is
present in paper, then the paper dielectric constant is increased in proportion
to the moisture content and calibrated into % moisture content directly.
